Service explained
What a buff butler does
A buff butler is a host, not a performer. The job is to keep your party moving so nobody in your group has to do it.
Across a standard two-hour booking he will:
- greet guests as they arrive and hand out the first drinks
- keep glasses topped up from the drinks your group has supplied
- run party games such as Mr & Mrs and prosecco pong, with the normal game props supplied by your butler
- help present food your group or venue has already prepared
- help organise group photos for guests who want to take part
- read the room, and keep the energy where your group wants it
He does not supply alcohol, mixers or food, and he is not a caterer or a mixologist. If you want cocktails made in front of you, that is our separate mobile cocktail making class in Middlesbrough.
Preparation time sits outside your booked hours. Your butler arrives ahead of the agreed start time to change and prepare, and your two hours begin at the confirmed booking time.

Confirm your venue permits it before you pay. Some holiday lets and apartment buildings have rules covering parties, visitor numbers and noise, and hotels will usually want to know what is happening in a room booked for a group. Permission is your responsibility as the organiser, and it is far easier to resolve before a deposit than after.
Layout matters more than square footage. One main room where the whole group can gather, a surface to work drinks from, and access to a kitchen is enough. A property split across several floors will fragment your group whatever its size.

Before you book
Cancellation and Refund Policy
The £20 booking deposit is not refunded if you cancel. What happens to the balance depends on the notice you give:

Exactly 30 days’ notice falls within the 14–30 day band. A request to reschedule made under 14 days before your event may be treated as a cancellation.
If Buff Boyz has to cancel, the remedies available under the Terms are a replacement entertainer, a rescheduled booking, or a full refund including the £20 deposit.

How far ahead should we book?
A few weeks is a sensible target, particularly for Friday and Saturday dates in spring and summer. Later bookings can often be accommodated, but availability on a specific date is never guaranteed until it is confirmed.
Can we take photos?
Yes — photography is permitted throughout a buff butler booking. Just check your other guests are happy to appear, and that your venue allows it.
