Most hen activities take you somewhere. This one comes to you, which changes the whole shape of the afternoon: no taxis, no timed arrival slot, no sharing a room with another group, and nobody has to be dressed and ready to leave the house.

It also does two jobs in one booking. The drawing half is the activity. The butler half is the bit that gets everyone talking before you go out — drinks poured, games running, the awkward first hour of a hen do already behind you.

How the 90 minutes works

The first 45 minutes — life drawing. Your model poses fully nude while the group draws. He sets the poses and paces the session himself, so nobody is left wondering what happens next or feels put on the spot. There is no tuition and no drawing tips: this is not an art class, and it is not trying to be. The drawings are usually terrible, which most groups find is the point.

Photography and video are not permitted during this half. That protects the model, and it is not negotiable.

The second 45 minutes — butler service. He changes into the butler outfit — a front-covering apron worn over bare skin, with a collar, cuffs and a bow tie — and switches into hosting: serving the drinks you have provided, running games, and getting everyone into group photos. Photography is unrestricted during this half.

One thing to arrange before he arrives: the model needs somewhere private to change. A bedroom or bathroom is fine. It is worth thinking about when you pick the room.

What’s included, what you provide, and what isn’t included

Nobody needs to bring anything to draw with. The paper, pencils and boards arrive with your model.

Room and space

You need a room where everyone can sit in a loose semicircle facing the model, with a clear space in the middle. A lounge, an open-plan kitchen-diner or a hotel suite living area all work. Furniture usually needs pushing back, not removing.

Two practical points worth checking when you book your accommodation rather than after:

• Privacy from windows. Ground-floor rooms facing a street or a shared courtyard need curtains or blinds that actually close.
• A private changing space for the model, as above.

If anyone in your group has access requirements, tell us when you enquire and we will talk through what the room needs — seating layout is usually the flexible part.

The deposit. A £20 deposit confirms your booking and is deducted from your total. If you choose to cancel, the deposit is not refunded.

If you cancel:

A cancellation falling exactly on the 30-day mark sits within the 14 to 30 day band.

If Buff Boyz cancels. In the unlikely event we cannot fulfil a confirmed booking, you can choose between a replacement entertainer, a rescheduled date, or a full refund including the deposit.
